Have you ever been so close to succeeding only to have the fraying rug, though you were sure it was whole new and safe, pulled from beneath your feet. Have you ever been given endless promises by numerous people, and you knew that when they opened that shiny beguiling gift box, it would be empty, apart from the stench of decay of truth and "You can trust me you will be famous" .I sincerely hope that if possible you can avoid this fate, because the frustration of being so close to your ambition, only to see it fail and collapse like a sandcastle in the wake of an incoming tide,is f..king unbearable!

Ouch, Alex. Sounds like this is really raw for you at the moment. And doesn't it just suck? When you're hoping for something for so long, and then you take the chance, almost unconciously, and step over the line from hoping into expectation, and then.... *sigh* and we never learn. We keep on hoping and expecting all the same.

Yes we do and end up having our fingers repeatedly burned but I'm not taking any more chances...

Well I think we’ve all been hurt at one point or another by a promise someone has made and not kept, or by being given hope of something that has not materialized, but I think to lose all faith or trust in humanity because of previous experience is very sad. Yes granted one might proceed with caution in the future and try not to have too many expectations, but by saying you would never believe anyone again, and that everyone is untrustworthy in your view, would you not then potentially be admitting that yourself fell into this category? I think that we go back time after time because subconsciously we believe in others, and when they promise us something, we hold on to that.

When faith is gone, all hope is lost!

Ohh no I'm completely trustworthy, you and I both know I was falsely acccused..And if you had been let down as often as I have, you would also despair...

Dawson your right and when people who said time and time again I believe in you ..turn out to be colossal liars, what else can you do but lose hope, what is the alternative,to put your self in the firing line for yet another false promise never again
